The world of 3D printing
How about 3D printed KAT! 100% printed of PLA and completely radio controlled! This particular machine was designed by Spyker Workshop and printed & built by Arctic Wings RC to operate the working 3D printed Snow Blower! It has modified tracks (courtesy of our local friends), to maximize traction on snow. It uses an aircraft radio, which has sticks to operate the forward / reverse / & turn of the tack system, which operates just like a real backhoe, excavator, or tank. This paint scheme is Alaskan camo, which was painstakingly hydro-dipped. The flat bed was a custom design. Check out this video!

Does the snow blower actually work - YES. The particular unit was mounted to a Traxxas TRX4. It utilizes a separate motor & electronic speed control (ESC) to turn the auger. A seperate servo operates the adjustable snow chute. Chec it out & watch our video!
Area 51 & Beyond
What's better than having the right equipment to explore Area 51...maybe finding what's really out there & beyond?

Centerstage is an Element GateKeeper. This crawler is anything but ordinary. It handles exceptionally well on the roughest of terrain. It's skinny stance allows it to get into the narrowest of spaces. It has a sharp turn radius, aluminum shocks, and soft tires. It even has an aftermarket LED light bar in the front.

To the right is a 1/18th scale Traxxas TRX4-m (for mini). This mini Bronco is a small 4x4 that comes in many color schemes. This is one is appropriately called "Area 51". Stop by our shop at 2360 Riddle Court in North Pole to view all of our products. We are open Monday-Friday 6pm-10pm and Saturday 4pm-10pm.
The Flying Hobby
We have been into the flying hobby for decades. All of the planes hanging above you really fly, and most of have been flown by us at some point.
Starting with the blue SuperCub proudly pulling Country Cafe's banner, this was one fo the largest foam planes made by E-flite. It's the Carbon Z Cub, and runs on a 6s (6cell or 22 volt) battery. E-flight has come up with several variants over the years, to include the Carbon Z Cessna, T-28, and the famous Skip Stewart BiPlane! Here's how they fly

If you are interested in getting into the flying hobby, come by and see us. There are many beginner / entry level setups that are simple and easy to fly. There is also a local flying cub, Midnight Night Sun Radio Control, which has it's own dedicated flying field near 9mile Richardson Hwy.
Helicopters 101
RC helicopters have been around for over 40 years. Early models were extremely expensive...and mostly unreliable. What has changed over the years, is better precision in the manufacturing and much more reliable electronics. Because larger helicopters, like the "Zombie Response" hanging over your head, need torque and high rpm to spin the large blades...there is a lot of room for error both in the manufacturing and build processes. RC helicopters today come in several sizes, ranging from micro (tiny handheld toys) to giant 900 gas and electric beasts (which are extremely dangerous).

Just like real helicopters, there is a gryo that tames the tail rotor. Many larger RC helicopters have highly tamed gyro's to aid the pilot by limiting pitch and bank angles (making them easier to fly); however, 3D pilots typically have these turned down so they can fly inverted, sideways, and in reverse!
The one hanging above you is a 600 size, which is about mid level. This particular helicopter is an older model Align (brand) that has had many expensive upgrades to make it 3D capable, meaning it can literally defy the laws of physics with being able to perform unbelievable aerobatics. Newer helicopters, like this yellow 800size SAB Goblin, are manufactured with 3D flight built in mind. They are more powerful and lighter with carbon fiber frames and blades. A helicopter like the SAB, with the transmitter, will set you back about $2,500! You will still have to build it and program it so it flys how you want. Check it out
